In Arizona, energy efficiency is extremely important due to the hot summers. The Remington’s who live in Verrado had this on the top of their list for a while. In July they contacted Altra Home Décor. They were looking for new energy efficient window treatments throughout their entire home.
Knowing that there maybe different opacity requirements for each room, we did a walk through of the house with the homeowners. We asked questions such as:
Is privacy an issue?
Do you want light filtering or room darkening window coverings
Is child or pet safe an issue?
Hunter Douglas Duette® Architella® Honeycomb Shades
A perfect fit was Hunter Douglas Duette Architella Honeycomb Shades – the most energy efficient shades on the market today for the following reasons:

The End Result
We used Duette ArchitellaTrielle throughout most of the rooms that got the most sun. Then we transitioned to Duette Architella in a few rooms that didn’t require as much resistance to the heat. In the bedrooms we used the room darkening option and throughout the rest of the home, light filtering.
To operate the shades, Hunter Douglas revolutionary UltraGlide® system was selected – a retractable cord mechanism that raises and lowers the shade providing a constant cord length, so there are never dangling cords to detract from the appearance of the shade and making it child and pet safe.
Conclusion
The Remington’s made sure to order their Duette Architella Honeycomb Shades during a rebate promotion, allowing for some extra money in their pockets.
Altra Home décor installed the shades while they were out of town and sent pictures when installed. When they returned home, they were even more impressed because they got to immediately reap the benefits of their new shades by feeling the difference in the temperature when they walked in.
