It’s Back to Nature for Your Home—Go Green

Going “green” is the color choice for 2017, according to the PANTONE Color Institute, which calls itself the “global color authority.” Reminiscent of the first day of spring, the official PANTONE color selection is 15-0343, titled Greenery. According to Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the PANTONE Color Institute, this yellow-green, snow pea color “is the color of hopefulness and of our connection to nature. It speaks to what we call the ‘re’ words: regenerate, refresh, revitalize, renew.” From the new leaf green Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster to the flourishing foliage colors used by Gucci and Prada, this color is everywhere.
How the Color Is Selected
Selecting the Color of the Year takes approximately nine months. The staff at PANTONE explores a variety of industries to collect what they refer to as “proof points.” They review the latest from the auto industry, designer runways, and interior decorating showcases. Once they identify the trends, they narrow down the choices.
Going “Designer” Green
Incorporating this new color trend into your home environment is easier than you might think. You could try new Greenery colored custom throw pillows.
